Neurons in the machine // Human Intelligence Task

Co-Author

This project is a collaboration with Juan Felipe from Colombia and Maurice, student at the Berlin University of Arts, to create an artistic project on platformized digital labor. Services like the creation of training data sets for AI systems, the content moderation for social media platforms and other technology-based services are actually based on extractavist, exploitative and psychological harmful human labor, sharing at the same time both, Juan’s and my experience as full-time click-workers.

"The project tries to draw on parallels between cybernetics and digital labor and engages with the materiality of a process where the matter seemingly doesn't matter; where repetitive machine tasks are outsourced to humans - mediated by platforms. According to the court order concerning reCAPTCHA in Rojus-Lozano v. Google the few seconds it takes to transcribe a word is not entitled to compensation - on microwork platforms the few seconds are repeated for whole days in order to make a living. In playing with the digital and the analog, with images of repetition and (lost) creativity, the project tries to bring back the focus on the material aspects behind platformized digital labor." - Maurice

Video Game Concept.jpg

Video Game Concept

Creator and Illustrator

This is a concept of a video game I'm working on, it's a 3rd person view open world gameplay. It's about a girl who by accident lost all her memories, and to return them she will have to make a trip to her subconsciousness, and at the same time she will discover who was the murderer who took the life of her whole family. It's framed in the future, a capitalist distopyan city where the people do nothing but satisfy their most absurd desires with money and power, and where there is still no exact definition of life.
